Basketball Recap: A.L. Brown Takes a Loss

A.L. Brown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Lake Norman Wildcats and fell 59-7. The game marked the Wonders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, A.L. Brown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore London Gray posted seven points.

Lake Norman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaiya Bond, who put up 12 points and six steals. Bond is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Samantha Shehan was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

A.L. Brown's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Lake Norman, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.

A.L. Brown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-17 defeat against Rocky River on the 29th. As for Lake Norman, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 89-37 win against West Cabarrus on the 31st.
