Basketball Recap: Robstown Takes a Loss

Robstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the London Pirates 65-36. While losing is never fun, the Cottonpickers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1501st, while the Pirates are ranked 322nd).

London was led to victory by Aiden Salinas and Ac Carpentier. Salinas went 8 for 13 on his way to 17 points, while Carpentier posted seven points in addition to eight assists and six steals. That's the most steals Carpentier has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Olivares, who had four points and five steals.

Robstown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for London, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Robstown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 34-32 loss against West Oso on the 28th. As for London, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-55 win against Wharton on the 28th.
