Basketball Recap: Quincy Triumphs

On Monday, the Quincy Orioles didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Charlotte Orioles, but they still walked away with a 50-45 win. That's two games straight that Quincy has won by exactly five points.

Despite the loss, Charlotte still got an impressive performance from Peyton Howarth, who went 9 for 16from beyond the arc on her way to 29 points. Those 29 points gave Howarth a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Silvas, who posted six points and nine assists.

The victory made it two in a row for Quincy and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Charlotte, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quincy will challenge Stockbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Charlotte will take on St. Johns in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th at.
