Softball Recap: Berks Catholic Takes a Loss

After flying high against Oley Valley last Wednesday, Berks Catholic came back down to earth. The Saints came up short against the Hamburg Hawks on Wednesday, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-1 back in March.

Berks Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Eckstein, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That RBI was Eckstein's first of the season.

Berks Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Hamburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Berks Catholic will welcome Eastern York at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hamburg, they are taking a road trip to square off against Daniel Boone at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
