Basketball Recap: Banning Victorious

After losing to Huntington Park the last time they met, Banning decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Banning Pilots snuck past the Huntington Park Spartans with a 52-47 victory on Friday. While the Pilots didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Banning has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Huntington Park, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Banning will be taking part in a tournament against Wilson at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Huntington Park, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Garfield at 6:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
