Volleyball Recap: Willard's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Willard and Pleasant squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Willard had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Crimson Flashes' defeat signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.

Willard couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Pleasant a tough time in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 31-33, 25-16.

Willard's offense was headlined by Natalie Slone and Camryn Wiers, who picked up 11 kills apiece. Wiers really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 16. Finally, Teagan Schaffer kept Willard's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Kamryn Roberts had a dynamite game For Pleasant., getting 30 digs and three aces. Roberts has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 23 times she's played.

Willard's loss dropped their record down to 22-4. As for Pleasant, they pushed their record up to 25-1 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.

Willard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pleasant, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Huron on the 1st.
