Softball Preview: Lamar Texans vs. Westbury Huskies
Lamar is 10-0 against Westbury since March of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lamar Texans will head out on the road to face off against the Westbury Huskies at 4:30 p.m. Westbury took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lamar, who comes in off a win.
After only two runs in their last matchup, Lamar made sure to put some runs up on the board against Westside on Monday. Lamar blew past Westside 13-4.
Meanwhile, sadly, Westbury is still looking for their first win of the season after four games. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 15-0 walloping at the hands of Cesar E. Chavez on Tuesday.
Lamar's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Westbury, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Everything went Lamar's way against Westbury in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 as Lamar made off with an 18-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lamar since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
