Football Game Preview: Sammamish RedHawks vs. Interlake Saints

The Sammamish RedHawks will square off against the Interlake Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Sammamish's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 27-0 victory over Lindbergh.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sammamish to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcus Weichel, who rushed for 154 yards and one touchdown. Those 154 rushing yards gave Weichel a new career-high. Ellis Gary was another key rusher, rushing for 33 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sammamish was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 235 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Interlake). They blew past Evergreen 49-0 on Friday. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The victory got Sammamish back to even at 2-2. As for Interlake, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
