Recap: Santa Rosa Christian vs. West Florida Baptist Academy Conquerors

Santa Rosa Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by West Florida Baptist Academy on the road and fell 55-24. Santa Rosa Christian was down 45-18 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

West Florida Baptist Academy found their leader in underclassman Claire Jelsma, who scored 16 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jelsma has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Stella Moore, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.

West Florida Baptist Academy used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Santa Rosa Christian. Three players got more time on the court than they're used to: Vivian Woodring (nine), Jelsma (19), and Kara Boyd (11). The trio had averaged 2.8, 9.06, and 5.59 minutes respectively before Friday's game. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: Woodring scored four points, while she scored 16 points along with two steals.

Santa Rosa Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Santa Rosa Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-17 victory vs. Gulf Pointe Latin on the 10th.
