Recap: Union Grove Wolverines vs. Ola Mustangs
The Union Grove Wolverines waltzed into their game on Friday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They really took it to Ola for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-36 victory at home. Union Grove has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Jordan Brooks, who scored 19 points along with nine steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 17 straight games. Nadea Smith was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Union Grove pushed their record up to 21-1 with that victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Ola, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union Grove won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Clarke Central at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. Clarke Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Ola, they will head out on the road to challenge Jones County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jones County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ola in Georgia (Jones County is ranked 45th, while Ola is ranked 386th).
