While Ferndale's  victory against North Star wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellow Jackets had just enough and edged out the Cougars  4-3 on Friday. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive  win against them.
 Aubrielle Leverknight made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Leverknight was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. She has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Izabel Chuklochak, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs and two  doubles. Those  doubles marked the first that  she has  hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Deajah Chatman, who  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases.
Ferndale's record now sits at 10-5. As for North Star,  they are  on  a  nine-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-10.
 Looking ahead, Ferndale will venture away from home to  challenge Bishop McCort  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for North Star, they will host Rockwood  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 6.5  runs per game this season.
