Basketball Recap: Plant City's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Plant City had won two straight games and Gavin Tinsley did his part to make it three on Tuesday. The Plant City Raiders strolled past the Durant Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 68-53 thanks in part to Tinsley, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Logan Teeden, who posted seven points along with five boards and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Gonser, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Gonser a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Ibanez, who scored 11 points.

Plant City is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Durant, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-13.

Plant City has already played their next game, a 75-61 win against Robinson on the 15th. As for Durant, they will square off against Sickles at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Sickles is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.4 points per game this season.
