Softball Recap: Fort Dorchester Victorious

Fort Dorchester is still undefeated this season after their game against Cane Bay on Monday, but Cane Bay came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Fort Dorchester Patriots came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Cane Bay Cobras. The one-run effort marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Not much got past Mila Lorenzano, who gave up just two hits to keep Cane Bay off the board. Lorenzano has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Fort Dorchester's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cane Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
