Basketball Game Preview: Elkhorn North vs. Blair Bears

Elkhorn North will head out to challenge the Blair Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Elkhorn North's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.

Elkhorn North is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Western Christian, who was ranked second in their home state at the time (Elkhorn North was ranked ninth). Elkhorn North took a 76-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Western Christian on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (59), Elkhorn North still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Blair beat Lincoln Northwest 55-46 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

The victory got Blair back to even at 7-7. As for Elkhorn North, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.

Elkhorn North didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Blair in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elkhorn North since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
