Oaks Christian started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Thousand Oaks. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Sophia Debs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Giabella Otani made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrianna Kelley, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Oaks Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Thousand Oaks, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5-1.

Oaks Christian and Thousand Oaks should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Lions (ranked 18th) will meet Westlake (ranked 90th) at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Thousand Oaks will take on Newbury Park at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (89 vs. 202).
