Softball Recap: East Palestine Has No Trouble Against Wellsville

East Palestine won the last time they faced Wellsville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Bulldogs have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kennedy Andre made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Andre was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Alivia Magness and Maddison Foster did most of the damage at the plate: Magness went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Foster went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI Foster has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taylor Foster, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

East Palestine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory made it two in a row for East Palestine and bumps their season record up to 5-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Wellsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Coincidentally, East Palestine and Wellsville will both be playing United the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
