Dez Smith of Mitchell is the Nebraska High School Football Player of the Week

Junior two-way standout did it all in win over Alliance.

After receiving more than 19,000 votes, Dez Smith of Mitchell is the MaxPreps Nebraska High School Football Player of the Week.

Smith, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound junior, carried 20 times for 246 yards and five touchdowns in a 65-30 win over Alliance. Defensively, he recorded three tackles, intercepted a pass and defended four others.

Here are the rest of this week's candidates, who collectively garnered more than 9,500 votes:

* Braylon Anderson, Oakland-Craig (Oakland): Completed 16 of 19 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for three scores in a 50-6 win over Archbishop Bergan.



* Quinton Archer, Bennington: Senior running back carried 24 times for 178 yards and a pair of touchdowns while also catching three passes for 94 yards and two scores in a 34-7 win over Blair.

* Maverick Binder, Auburn: Senior ran for 243 yards and five touchdowns on 23 carries in a 40-26 win over Lincoln Christian.

* Mason Chandler, Bellevue East (Bellevue): Senior completed 13 of 15 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns while adding another score on the ground in a 55-0 win over Omaha Benson.

* Eli Coble, Broken Bow: Ran an incredible 52 times for 447 yards and three touchdowns in a 43-19 win over Holdrege. Also threw a touchdown pass, made three tackles and blocked a field goal attempt.

* Trenton Ernst, Lincoln Lutheran (Lincoln): Sophomore receiver caught 11 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-13 win over Centennial.

* Luke Holly, Sidney: Senior ran for 180 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries in a 40-21 win over Chadron.



* Blake Macklin, Norris (Firth): Senior running back carried 16 times for 274 yards and four touchdowns in a 63-20 win over Beatrice.

* Jack Steenson, Grand Island Central Catholic (Grand Island): Senior reeled in five passes for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns and made four tackles, picked off a pass and deflected a pass in a 28-14 win over Wood River.
