Helix has gone 8-1 against Valhalla recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Highlanders will be playing at home against the Norsemen at 4:00 p.m. Helix is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
On Thursday, Helix was able to grind out a solid win over El Capitan, taking the game 4-1.
Sean Sherrod spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Antoin Simpson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Helix's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 7-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jake Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Helix lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 3-1 when they post two or more home runs.
West Hills hit Valhalla with a five-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Norsemen came up short against the Wolf Pack, falling 7-1. Norsemen fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Wolf Pack since on Monday.
Enzo Gaipa was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March.
At the plate, Valhalla saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Shartel, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Helix now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Valhalla, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Helix was able to grind out a solid victory over Valhalla in their previous matchup back in May of 2021, winning 3-0. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Norsemen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
