Baseball Game Preview: Plain Dealing Lions vs. Lakeview Gators

The Plain Dealing Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Lakeview Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Plain Dealing has three straight victories, Lakeview has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Plain Dealing is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since February 24, 2025 on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Ringgold, sneaking past 13-12.

Bo Bailey was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Plain Dealing is 2-1 when Bailey posts three or more RBI, but 7-9-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade DeMoss, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.

Plain Dealing was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Lakeview lost 19-11 to Pleasant Hill on Wednesday.

Plain Dealing's record now sits at 9-10-1. As for Lakeview, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Plain Dealing suffered a grim 19-9 defeat to Lakeview in their previous meeting on March 5th. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
