Basketball Game Preview: Webber Trojans vs. Madison Trojans

The Webber Trojans and the Madison Trojans will face off at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Webber has three straight wins, Madison has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Webber had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 29-point drubbing they dealt Norris City-Omaha-Enfield on Friday. Webber took their match with ease, bagging a 72-43 victory over Norris City-Omaha-Enfield. With the Trojans ahead 45-24 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Madison came up short against Meridian on Friday and fell 73-63. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while the Bobcats are ranked 206th).

Webber's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points over those games. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.
