Basketball Game Preview: Mountain Pointe Pride vs. McClintock Chargers

Mountain Pointe is 0-4 against McClintock since November of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Pride will head out to square off against the Chargers at 2:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Mountain Pointe was able to grind out a solid victory over Sunrise Mountain, taking the game 60-53.

Mountain Pointe's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Amora Mask, who almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds, and Nia Rowe, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 18 points along with six boards and five assists. That's the most assists Rowe has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelsea Smith, who put up seven points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, McClintock put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Corona del Sol to the tune of 78-28. Fans of the Chargers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Mountain Pointe better keep an eye on Diamond Prince. She was instrumental in McClintock's win, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine steals. Another player making a difference was Anna Egorova, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 13 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Mountain Pointe's record is now 2-0. As for McClintock, their record now sits at 4-0.

Mountain Pointe took a serious blow against McClintock in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 59-23. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Chargers' Lamaiya Woodberry, who shot 62% from the field en route to 19 points along with seven boards and three steals.
