Softball Game Preview: Bald Eagle Area Eagles vs. Bishop Carroll Huskies

The Bald Eagle Area Eagles will take on the Bishop Carroll Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Bald Eagle Area's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Bishop Carroll has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Bald Eagle Area's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Clearfield 7-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.

Not much got past Sierra Albright, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Clearfield off the board. Albright has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alexa Baney, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kailey Eckert, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bishop Carroll came up short against Bishop McCort on Monday, falling 21-1.

Bishop Carroll saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Strittmatter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI.

Bishop Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Bald Eagle Area, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
