The Owensboro Catholic Aces will head out on the road to square off against the Henderson County Colonels at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Owensboro Catholic earned a 6-1 win over Breckinridge County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aces.
Railey Scott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carley Brey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Harper Latham, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Henderson County got the win against Union County on Monday by a conclusive 15-1. The Colonels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 contests by six runs or more this season.
Anna Kemp was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Burczyk was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Ayden Bennett was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Henderson County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union County only posted a batting average of .176.
Henderson County's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 28-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Owensboro Catholic, their record is now 10-12-2.
Owensboro Catholic might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Henderson County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Aces avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
