Football Recap: Brady Philbrick Key Part of Team Effort in Cougars Win

After only six points in their last matchup, Dirigo made sure to put some points up on the board against Morse on Friday. The Cougars blew past the Shipbuilders 35-14. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Cougars' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Dirigo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Philbrick, who threw for 158 yards and three TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 49 yards. Another receiver making a difference was Trevor Crosby, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Dirigo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Owen Smith and Leighton Waite. Waite got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Dirigo's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Morse, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Dirigo has already played their next game, a 32-0 victory against Mountain Valley on the 17th. As for Morse, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-0 win against Belfast on the 17th.
