North has gone a perfect 5-0 against Metro Tech recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will head out to square off against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. North has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Metro Tech will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: North extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Mustangs walked away with a 16-11 win over Paradise Valley.
Solis Coker made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalie Figueroa, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Ariana Velasquez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .568. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .378 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Metro Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 20-18 victory over Alhambra on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Mariah Price was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing three bases while going 5-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Aispuro Avilez, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5.
North's record is now 7-9. As for Metro Tech, their record now sits at 3-6.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. North hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .445. However, it's not like Metro Tech struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went North's way against Metro Tech in their previous matchup back in March, as North made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
