Basketball Recap: Gayville-Volin Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Gayville-Volin and Freeman squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Gayville-Volin had to settle for second. They lost 61-38 to the Freeman Flyers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flyers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-29 two weeks ago.

It was another big night for David Walter, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 11 boards for Freeman. Walter's big performance that evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Luke Peters was another key player, putting up ten points.

Gayville-Volin has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. Freeman's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4.

Gayville-Volin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Freeman, they have already played their next game, an 86-76 victory against Parkston on the 8th.
