Soccer Game Preview: Randall vs. Canyon

The Randall Raiders will take on the Canyon Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Randall is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Dumas, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 663rd, while the Demons are ranked 210th).

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Canyon's offense. They lost 7-0 to Perryton on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Randall, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Randall was able to grind out a solid win over Canyon in their previous matchup back in January, winning 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Randall since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
