Soccer Recap: O'connor Takes Down Ranked Campo Verde

O'Connor faced Campo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Eagles walked away with a 2-0 win over the Coyotes. That result was just more of the same for these two, as O'Connor also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Caitlin McCauley and Jenna Gaines scored both of O'Connor's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

The victory made it two in a row for O'Connor and bumps their season record up to 5-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two contests. As for Campo Verde, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. O'Connor will welcome Pinnacle at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th. Pinnacle's defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so O'Connor's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Campo Verde, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Desert Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on January 14th.
