Baseball Recap: Perquimans County Comes Up Short

Perquimans County lost to Manteo back in February of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pirates fell just short of the Redskins by a score of 2-1.

Ethan Drew spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Perquimans County's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-7. As for Manteo, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Perquimans County beat the Redskins by a score of 7-3 on Thursday.
