Softball Game Preview: Creekview Mustangs vs. Turner Lions

Creekview is 9-1 against Turner since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Creekview Mustangs will take on the Turner Lions at 6:45 p.m. Turner took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Creekview, who comes in off a win.

Creekview will bounce into Friday's match after beating Lone Star, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Creekview walked away with a 7-3 victory over Lone Star on Tuesday.

Kelis Lee made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI.

Lee wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was MacKenzie Martin, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI Martin has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, Turner lost 9-3 to Highland Park on Tuesday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Scots recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Adra Ogelvie made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Turner's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Creekview, their record is now 12-9.

Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Creekview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. However, it's not like Turner struggles in that department as they've averaged .542. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Creekview couldn't quite finish off Turner in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can Creekview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
