Softball Recap: Pocono Mountain West Takes a Loss

Pocono Mountain West lost against Allentown Central Catholic back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Panthers fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 9-8. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Pocono Mountain West saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liliana Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Emma Covino also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Pocono Mountain West has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Allentown Central Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pocono Mountain West will take on Pleasant Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. As for Allentown Central Catholic, they will square off against Parkland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
