Basketball Recap: Watertown Takes a Loss

Watertown lost against Woodland Regional back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Watertown Indians fell 63-56 to the Woodland Regional Hawks. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Watertown still got an impressive performance from Christopher O'Toole, who went 13 of 18 en route to 34 points and five rebounds. That was a full 60.7% of Watertown's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Johnathan Platt, who had seven points.

Even though they lost, Watertown was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Watertown now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Woodland Regional, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Watertown will welcome Derby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodland Regional, they will head out to square off against Amistad at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Woodland Regional's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
