Baseball Recap: Alta Loma Takes a Loss

Alta Loma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 12-7 to the San Dimas Saints. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 last Wednesday.

Noah Verkaik and Lukas Spence did some serious damage despite the final result: Verkaik went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Spence scored a run while going 1-for-4. That triple marked the first that Verkaik hit this season. Another player making a difference was Cody Primanto, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Alta Loma's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for San Dimas, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.

While Alta Loma had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
