Volleyball Recap: Laurel Hill Hoboes vs. Freeport Bulldogs
Laurel Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Freeport Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hoboes of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Freeport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylee Worrell, who had four aces and three digs. Worrell is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kiaya Johnson, who had six aces.
Laurel Hill's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Freeport, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Laurel Hill will take on Northview at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Freeport, they will head out on the road to take on Walton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Freeport is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
