Gilmer takes down Bellville in a playoff battle

Recap: Gilmer Buckeyes vs. Bellville Brahmas

The Gilmer Buckeyes extended their postseason success on Friday against the Bellville Brahmas. They had just enough and edged the Brahmas out 28-26. Winning may never get old, but Gilmer sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

It was another big night for Will Henderson, who rushed for 227 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. He set a new season high mark in carries with 27. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadon Tennison, who threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns.

Bellville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Hranicky, who rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Hranicky was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards. Another player making a difference was DD Murray, who gained 153 total yards and a touchdown.

Gilmer's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Bellville, their loss dropped their record down to 15-1.

Gilmer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bellville also has no future games currently scheduled.
