Football Game Preview: Willow Spring Storm vs. Hoggard Vikings + How To Watch

The Willow Spring Storm will face off against the Hoggard Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Willow Spring is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Laney with points to spare, taking the game 31-12. The Storm pushed the score to 31-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Buccaneers cut but never quite recovered from.

Willow Spring can attribute much of their success to Ethan Dyk Es, who threw for 224 yards and a pair of TDs. Dyk Es' passing game has become a key predictor of the Storm's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-5 otherwise. 90 of Dyk Es' passing yards were hauled in by Greyson Mosley.

Willow Spring didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caleb Coston and Aaron Greene.

Meanwhile, Hoggard strolled into their game two weeks ago with a perfect record and they left with the same. They breezed past Ashley to the tune of 38-8. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Willow Spring better keep an eye on Matthew Boring. He was instrumental in Hoggard's win, rushing for 32 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 110 yards while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Hoggard's run defense was locked in: Ashley could only muster 1.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Josh Tingelstad for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Hoggard; they were averaging 4.2yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three games they've fallen to only 4 per game.

Willow Spring now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Hoggard, their record now sits at 10-0.
