Softball Recap: Wheaton Takes a Loss

If Wheaton was feeling good fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Verona last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Wheaton fell just short of the Hurley Tigers by a score of 11-10 on Friday. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Wheaton's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2. As for Hurley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheaton will venture away from home to square off against Greenfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Exeter has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.14 runs per game on average), something Hurley will no doubt try to take advantage of.
