Basketball Preview: Greenville Green Wave vs. Piqua Indians

Greenville is on a six-game streak of home losses, the Indians a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Greenville Green Wave will take on the Piqua Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Friday, Greenville lost to the Skyhawks on the road by a decisive 56-37 margin.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Chace Drew, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Drew Hamilton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Piqua suffered a rough 58-38 defeat at the hands of the Bison on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Piqua can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 684th, while the Bison are ranked 341st).

Greenville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Piqua, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.

Greenville didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Indians when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 53-48 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Piqua's Tate Kuhlman, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Greenville still be able to contain Kuhlman? There's only one way to find out.
