It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Triad ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Highland Bulldogs 6-5. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by just one run.

Triad is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Highland, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Triad will host Jersey at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Highland, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. Waterloo will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Highland surely won't give up without a fight.
