Baseball Recap: Commerce Takes a Loss

Commerce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 9-1 to the Edgewood Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 7-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Commerce saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keldrick Greer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Eli Black also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Commerce's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Edgewood, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. As for Edgewood, they will be taking part in a tournament against Muenster at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
