Softball Recap: Bishop Moore Hornets vs. Mount Dora Hurricanes
Bishop Moore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Dora Hurricanes. The Hornets were not able to make up for their loss to the Hurricanes from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.
Riley Johnson put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, Arianna Lara made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Sabrina Griffin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Bishop Moore's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Mount Dora, the win also got them back to even at 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Moore will square off against Leesburg at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mount Dora, they will challenge Oviedo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
