Basketball Recap: Mendon Unity Comes Up Short

Mendon Unity lost to West Prairie back in February of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs fell 80-67 to the Cyclones. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Braden Coplan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Prairie, shooting 62% from the field to rack up 46 points. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Coplan has scored at least a third of the Cyclones' points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Clark, who went 6-for-8 en route to 14 points.

Mendon Unity's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for West Prairie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

Mendon Unity wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-57 loss against Griggsville-Perry on the 14th. As for West Prairie, they are taking a road trip to square off against Camp Point Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
