Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Saints vs. DSST: Montview Knights

The Jefferson Saints are taking a road trip to challenge the DSST: Montview Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Jefferson easily dispatched Rocky Mountain Prep SMART on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Jefferson fell just short of DSST: Cedar by a score of 45-42 on Tuesday.

Jefferson's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Meadow Mondragon, who posted 17 points and six assists, and T Nutter, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. Nutter is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season. Sara Sylvester was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, DSST: Montview didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Gateway last Saturday, but they still walked away with a 38-32 victory.

Jefferson better keep an eye on Mykah Rimpson. She was instrumental in DSST: Montview's win, dropping a triple-double on 14 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 steals.

The win got DSST: Montview back to even at 1-1. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything went Jefferson's way against DSST: Montview in their previous meeting back in January, as Jefferson made off with a 36-12 victory. Will Jefferson repeat their success, or does DSST: Montview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
