Hickory extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 6-13. They lost 18-8 to the Sharon Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-6 back in April.

Hickory saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Turosky, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Sean Cummings was another, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for Sharon, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-6 record. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

On Sharon's side, Coen Fertig made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Fertig has posted since back in March. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Sharon got a massive performance out of Marko Zajac, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The Tigers are undefeated when Zajac posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Santino Gavin, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.

As of now, neither Hickory nor Sharon have any future games scheduled.
