Baseball Game Preview: Rondout Valley Ganders vs. Middletown Middie Bears

The Rondout Valley Ganders will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Middletown Middie Bears at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Middletown took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Rondout Valley, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Rondout Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Red Hook, taking the game 7-3.

Meanwhile, Middletown didn't have quite enough to beat Valley Central on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Jarod Melendez was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Rondout Valley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Middletown, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Rondout Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Middletown in their previous matchup back in April of 2019, winning 7-4. Will the Ganders repeat their success, or do the Middie Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
