Preston had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 5-10 to make it four. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Century Diamondbacks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Diamondbacks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-10 on Wednesday.

Conner Thomson put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since April 1st. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

On Century's side, Camdyn Renyolds was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave Renyolds a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daeton Poulsen, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Preston beat Century by a score of 15-0 on Thursday.
