Soccer Recap: Tompkins Find Success

Tompkins won the last time they faced Mayde Creek and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tompkins Falcons had just enough and edged the Mayde Creek Rams out 2-1. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Rams are ranked 410th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alex Knight and Brayden Lehner scored both of Tompkins' goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

The win made it two in a row for Tompkins and bumps their season record up to 6-1-2. As for Mayde Creek, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Morton Ranch the next time they take the pitch. Tompkins will host Morton Ranch at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, while Mayde Creek will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
