Softball Recap: Sonoma Valley Dragons vs. American Canyon Wolves
Sonoma Valley extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 5-13 in the process. They lost 13-5 to the American Canyon Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on April 2nd.
Sonoma Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Rhodd, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI. Ellie Llanos was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs.
As for American Canyon, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the game before.
On American Canyon's side, the team relied heavily on Deja Montgomery, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Montgomery has posted since back in March. Camille Wilson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Looking ahead, Sonoma Valley will be playing at home against Analy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for American Canyon, they are taking a road trip to take on Napa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
