Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Midland

Midland entered their tilt with San Angelo Central on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bobcats a 7-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 games by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Bree Battenfelder, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep San Angelo Central off the board. Battenfelder has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kamryn Weir was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Marley Porter, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Midland's victory bumped their record up to 24-5. As for San Angelo Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.

Coming up, Midland is taking a road trip to square off against Midland Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for San Angelo Central, they will be playing at home against Frenship at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight.
