Baseball Recap: Miami Takes a Loss

Miami was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Skiatook Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Monday.

Miami saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Blundell, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Blundell has hit this season. Another was Trevor Henry, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Miami's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Skiatook, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Miami will challenge Pryor at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Skiatook, they will face off against Booker T. Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.56 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
